Borders College
About the Scottish Borders The Scottish Borders is a recreational paradise with its perfect blend of wild moorland, deep forests, rolling hills and peaceful river valleys that made this area a playground of Scottish Kings. When you add award winning restaurants, and a full programme of artsand sports events throughout the year, you'll understand why some people who visit never leave!
Whilst football drives the passions of the nation, rugby sets Border hearts beating faster. Its a matter of great local pride that this area of such low population (100,000) should have such an enormous contribution to rugby at a national level, as well as supplying so many of Scotland's greatest rugby players. The game of seven aside rugby did infact originate from the Scottish Borders, invented in Melrose by Ned Haig in 1883.
If Rugby doesn't excite then there's plenty more activities to indulge in from golfing on one of our twenty-one 18 and 9 hole courses, or cycling on one of our various cycling routes including the Border Loop that goes through various towns with spectacular views of the Borders landscape. There's also walking, horse riding, canoeing, 4x4 and much more!
You can purchase high quality garments and cloths at very reasonable prices from people who know and understand the nature of their knitted and woven fabrics. Famous designers from the world of fashion, such as Vivien Westwood, Ralph Lauren and Jean Paul Gaultier, regularly purchase fabrics from Border Mills.
Eating out in the Scottish Borders is a pleasure -with a choice of quality country inns, hotels, restaurants and friendly pubs!
The Borders has a special magic and timeless qualities which can't be described in words, you simply have to be here to 'feel the glow'.
